Luanda – President João Lourenço arrived in Luanda on Friday night, coming from Abidjan where he completed a 48-hour visit, at the invitation of his counterpart Alassane Ouattara.
Upon his arrival, João Lourenço was received at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Vice-President, Esperança da Costa, among other individuals present for this purpose.
In the Ivorian capital, in addition to holding a private meeting, the president witnessed the signing of 14 cooperation agreements between the two countries, in the sectors of agriculture, oil and gas, territorial administration, tourism, culture, scientific research, health, social communication, among others.
On the occasion, João Lourenço said Angola seeks experiences from Côte d'Ivoire in the agricultural sector to increase production levels and guarantee food security.
Still on the first day of the visit, the Angolan president was honored with the title of honorary citizen of Côte d'Ivoire, followed by a traditional ceremony that made him one of the chiefs of the Atchan tribe.
The Angolan statesman was awarded the "Grand Cross of the National Order", the highest distinction in Côte d'Ivoire, as well as being honored with an official dinner.
On the last day, the president visited the Cemói-ci factory, dedicated to the production of chocolates and other cocoa by-products and met with Angolans residing in that country. VIC/AMP
