Luanda - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on Monday in Luanda received the Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
The AU Commission Chairman met with the Angolan President at the Presidential Palace.
From February this year, Angola will assume the annual presidency of the African Union, replacing Mauritania which, through its head of state, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, has led the continent's most important political-diplomatic organization since February 2024.
Moussa Faki Mahamat is on an official visit to the country since last Sunday, for a 48-hour stay.
