Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço reaffirmed Wednesday in Luanda that the end of the conflict in the Middle East involves the creation of the Palestinian State.
The Angolan Head of State made the statement at the opening of the third Biennale of Luanda, underlining that the war opposing Israel and Hamas armed wing has only one possible solution, which is necessarily based on the creation of the Palestinian State.
João Lourenço reinforced that this assumption is highlighted in the various United Nations Security Council resolutions on the matter.
"We are currently facing a bleak international panorama, as a result of the war between Israel and Palestine, where the war takes mainly defenseless children and women," Lourenço said.
The Angolan president added that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine constitutes a serious and unequivocal threat to international security and world peace, citing as consequences the human, social, economic and political dimension that originates from this conflict.
João Lourenço called for the need to improve governance mechanisms with the aim to prevent and intervene in today's major conflicts, having demanded urgent measures to end the human tragedy that is being observed in Gaza, faced with a kind of impotence on the part of the international community.
The Angolan Head of State advocated firmness and determination to stop the mutilation and death of thousands of defenseless and innocent human beings in that part of the Middle East. VIC/ADR/CF/AMP
