Luanda – President João Lourenço on Thursday appointed Teresa Manuel Bento da Silva as deputy director-general of the External Intelligence Service (SIE), in substitution of Mário António da Costa Dias who has been dismissed from the post.
The information was made public in the Presidency’s Facebook page, which also discloses that before making the appointment the Head of State consulted the National Security Council.
The SIE is basically tasked with helping to guarantee the territorial integrity of the country and prevent external threats.
