Luanda - The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), João Lourenço, on Monday appointed Admiral Valentim Alberto António to the post of Commander of the Angolan Navy.
Before the appointment, in another decree, President João Lourenço, after hearing the National Security Council, promoted Vice-Admiral Valentim Alberto António to the military rank of Admiral and Colonel Francisco Hebo Zangui Longa to the military rank of Brigadier.
The appointment and the promotions occurred in accordance with the terms of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and was supported by the Law on National Defence and the Armed Forces, reads the President´s Press Office statement.
