Cuanza-Norte - The President of the Republic has already been in the city of Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte, since the beginning of this afternoon, Monday, where for two days he will carry out a work program, as part of his proximity governance program.
At Comandante Ngueto Airport, the Head of State, who is accompanied by the first lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, received greetings from the local governor, João Diogo Gaspar, and members of the central Executive.
The highest point of the work agenda of the Head of the Executive Power in the region will be centered on the inauguration, Tuesday, of the General Hospital of Cuanza-Norte 'Mário Pinto de Andrade', at the tertiary level.
The national reference hospital unit will bring high complexity services to the region, such as Hemodialysis, Imaging with various valences, and an Intensive Care Unit that will serve from newborns to adults.
Also on Tuesday, in the morning, in compliance with the agenda, the Head of State will visit the Lucala water treatment plant, under construction and expected to benefit about 300,000 inhabitants.
In the afternoon, the President agenda to Cuanza-Norte includes a visit to the Provincial Agricultural Production Fair, which takes place in the city of Ndalantando, with the participation of producers from the ten municipalities.
On Wednesday, the last day of the visit, João Lourenço will lead a meeting with the local government, to learn about the socio-economic situation of the province.
The province of Cuanza Norte, with an estimated population of about 500,000 inhabitants, has a territorial area of 24,110 square kilometres.
Agriculture is the most important economic activity, with the main crop productions being cassava, corn, pineapple, ginguba, beans, bananas, avocados, papayas, peas, oil palm and guava.
The province maintains mining activities on an artisanal and industrial scale, the most relevant being gold, diamonds, iron, manganese, marble, nickel, zinc and lime. The extraction of quartz, manganese, copper, sand and mineral water is also recorded. AFL/VIC/DOJ
