Luanda – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço discussed Friday with the former first lady, Ana Paula dos Santos, to learn of the health condition of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos.
According to a note posted on the Presidency of the Republic's Facebook page, the telephone conversation, in a gesture of solidarity, took place following information about an alleged deterioration in the state of health of the former President of Angola, published in recent days by the Portuguese press.
According to this news, the former Angolan Head of State would be "interned, in an intensive care, in a private unit in Barcelona, Spain.
José Eduardo dos Santos was the second President of Angola, after the death of the founding leader of the Nation, António Agostinho Neto.
He ruled the country from 1979 to 2017, having been succeeded by João Lourenço.
