Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, inaugurated, in the early evening of Wednesday, the Luanda Science Centre.
Located in an area of 17,667 square meters, the institution, unique in the country, should be a space dedicated to the promotion of science, technology and innovation.
In addition to the exhibition halls, with 278 modules, it has among the equipment the planetarium, video mapping, cinema room, butterfly house and secular house.
According to explanations given, the planetarium is a celestial projection space, with projectors to explore the cosmos and stars.
The Mapping video, with 8 projectors, allows visitors to explore themes such as the Angolan reality, the human body, planets, fauna, flora, soap bubbles and light refraction.
In turn, the cinema room has 146 seats, with special effects, such as vibration, water, wind sensation and touch, while the butterfly house allows you to contemplate live butterflies.
The equipment area is the Secular House, a historic building that predates the soap factory of 1925.
The centre is housed in the old soap factory, in the “Baleizão” area, in the lower part of the city of Luanda, and will have 68 employees. JFS/SC/ADR/DOJ
