Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, assured this Tuesday that Angola is determined to make the partnership with the Czech Republic increasingly better and adjusted to the context.
On his Facebook page, in the ambit of the start of a two-day official visit to Czech Republic, at the invitation of his counterpart, Petra Pavel, the statesman wrote that relations between the two countries go back decades, with appreciable results for the parties.
"We are determined to make our partnership ever better and adjusted to the context. Therefore, today will be a memorable day for both peoples, as we place another stone in our cooperation", he highlighted.
The Head of State, João Lourenço, is on a 48-hour official visit from today (Wednesday), at the invitation of his counterpart, Petra Pavel.
The program foresees, among other topics, talks between the presidential delegations of the two countries, as well as visits to the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, as well as a meeting with the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, in addition to being honored with an official dinner by President Petra Pavel.
João Lourenço leaves the city of Prague on Thursday, February 22nd.
Czechia or the Czech Republic is a country in Central Europe, with a population of more than 10.7 million inhabitants.
Political-diplomatic ties between Angola and Czechia date back to the Cold War period, when this country was linked to the Slovak Republic, then Czechoslovakia, disintegrated on January 1, 1993, when they were part of the socialist bloc.
