Luanda - Angolan Head of State João Lourenço Sunday extended his warm congratulation to the King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on his royal accession to the throne.
King Charles III "has just taken over the responsibility of succeeding His mother, a unique figure in the modern history of the United Kingdom and the world today", reads the congratulatory message.
In a letter reached ANGOP, João Lourenço praises the unusual qualities of Queen Elizabeth II, stating that the Queen knew how to "ensure for decades the unity of the British peoples and contribute to world peace".
The Angolan statesman is confident that the King Charles III will be a builder of the new foundations that will support the consolidation of union and harmony between the British and the peoples in the planet.
João Lourenço hopes that during the reign of the British monarch, Angola and the United Kingdom will keep intact the values of friendship and solidarity by which their respective peoples and governments are governed.
He highlights, in his message, the fact that there are coordinated actions between the two States, "always with a view to intensifying bilateral cooperation and increasing benefits for both parties". The message ends with wishes, on behalf of the Angolan Executive and on his own, for many successes and good health to the King Charles III.
