Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Tuesday congratulated his counterparts from China and Nigeria on the national day of both countries.
In a message sent to XI Jinping, the statesman hailed the founding of the People's Republic of China, which has risen in the last 75 years as an inspiring nation endowed with a vitality that has favored the change of all living standards of its citizens.
He said that, over the years, the Chinese have been free from poverty and have been able to dedicate all their efforts and energies to achieving economic, technical, scientific and technological development objectives, transforming the country into a major world reference for inclusive progress.
'I take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to continue to make efforts to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between our two nations, with the conviction that, by following this path, we will be able to raise the strategic partnership that exists between our governments to high levels, thus contributing to the construction of a fairer and more solidary world', writes João Lourenço.
It is expected that Angola and China will walk together, in search of tangible results shared by their respective peoples.

Angola and China established diplomatic relations in 1983. After 41 years, cooperative relations are at the best time in history.
Turnover between Angola and China exceeded US$23 billion in 2023, at a time when the partners intend to catapult relations to another level of quality.
Nigeria
To his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu, President João Lourenço also addressed a message in which he congratulated the people, the government and the Nigerian President himself for the celebration of the 64th anniversary of Independence in that African country.
'On this remarkable date for the Nigerian people, I highlight the excellent historical relations of friendship and cooperation that our two countries have maintained for several years and that unite our peoples and strengthen existing ties with a view to contributing to progress and reciprocal development,' he stresses.
Angola and Nigeria maintain diplomatic, economic and trade relations, as well as cementing investments in sectors that generate employment and social stability.
In the last three years, the value of exports of goods from Angola to Nigeria was estimated at US$5.6 million and imports stood at US$16.8 million, corresponding to a negative trade balance of about US$11.2 million. ART/DOJ
