Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), on Monday in the Province of Luanda congratulated through a message all military staffs and civilian workers, on the occasion of the corporation's 32nd anniversary, marked this Monday (9).
According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, in his message, the Head of State warmly congratulates all the military, as well as FAA civilian workers for their uncompromising defence of the country’s independence, national sovereignty and integrity, creating the conditions of security and stability necessary for Angola's development and social progress.
João Lourenço´s message emphasizes that “in the context of peace, the engagement of the FAA in social tasks and of public interest has been highlighted in the various areas and development projects, which contribute to improving the living conditions of populations, particularly in community activities and the preservation of the Environment".
The Head of State said that the FAA gained enormous prestige throughout history, exemplarily fulfilling their noble mission of ensuring, with all available resources and means, the defence of the national territory and constitutional powers, cooperating side by side side with the National Police in fighting organized crime, protecting our borders and maintaining public order and tranquility.
According to the message, the President of the Republic assures that the "Government, in accordance with budgetary capabilities and in the interest of national defence, will continue to implement policies that make the FAA increasingly better served from the point of view of infrastructure of quartering, armament, technical and material resources and the improvement of working conditions and valorization of its personnel, within the scope of the ongoing restructuring, resizing and modernization process".
In the letter, the Commander-in-Chief addresses young people, considering them to be continuators of the gigantic work begun by former combatants and veterans of the country and all who were involved in the tough battles for national Independence, self-determination and national stability, hoping that they remain firm in fulfilling the arduous and honourable mission of serving the country, demonstrating values that highlight unshakable patriotism, because "the country does not beg its children, it orders them!".
