Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço on Thursday swore in Virgílio Domingos da Silva Júlio and Maria Teresa Adelaide Bento Lourenço as director and deputy director of the Ceremonial Office of the President of the Republic.
The newly appointed officials pledged to cooperate to achieve the higher purposes of the state and defense of the order established by the Constitution, respect and enforce the law and to fulfill the duties to which they have been appointed with zeal and dedication.
They also promised to fight corruption, nepotism and acts that harm the public interest, under penalty of civil and criminal liability.
João Lourenço on his turn urged those in office to have a high sense of discipline and responsibility in order to dignify the Presidency of the Republic. JFS/VIC/AMP
