Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Tuesday in Luanda appointed Lucas Manuel João Quilundo to the position of Judge to the Constitutional Court (TC).
According to the presidential decree, this appointment is due to the existence of a vacancy for a judge to the Constitutional Court and the need to appoint another entity to carry out the aforementioned role.
The TC is made up of 11 judges, four appointed by the President of the Republic, including the president of the court, four elected by the National Assembly, two are elected by the Superior Council of the Judiciary and one is selected through a public curricular competition.
Constitutional Court judges serve a non-renewable seven-year term.
