Moçâmedes - Along its 45 years of existence, the National Police have registered a notable growth, visible in its strategy of action and organisation.
Speaking at a lecture on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the corporation, which is marked on the 28th of this month, the commander of the National Police in Namibe, commissioner Alberto Sebastião Mendes, said that nowadays, a modern police force, defender of the rights, liberties and fundamental guarantees of the citizens is being fought for.
He said that the corporation has been able to protect people and their property, as well as the principles of legality and preservation of public interest.
On the occasion, he reminded the attending officers about the National Police trajectory, advising the staff to know its history, in order to understand and have a realistic vision related to the police action.
He appealed to the officers to be guided by performance, discipline and rigour at work, guaranteeing in this way order and tranquillity in the communities.
