Luanda - Generals Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias Júnior “Kopelipa” and Leopoldino Fragoso do Nascimento “Dino” have been banned from travelling abroad, as part of an ongoing investigation, Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has said.
The two generals have recently been charged with embezzlement.
TV Zimbo television said that the two generals were also subject to the coercion measure of identity and residence term and the obligation to periodically report to the PGR until the conclusion of the process.
Kopelipa was former Minister of State and head of the Military Affairs Office (currently the Security Affairs Office of the President of the Republic).
While Dino, served as head of Communications of the Civil Affairs Office of the President of Republic - both under the former President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
There are "strong evidences" that the two generals "have benefited from the Angolan State's business with the China International Fund (CIF)" company, he said.
Both enjoy immunities and cannot be placed in pre-trial detention before the indictment, which is at contradictory procedure.
The generals have delivered to the Attorney General’s Office the assets and companies set up with public funds, such as cement factories, beer factories, automobile assembly lines, including all their equipment and machinery.
They also delivered all the equipment and shares they owned in the Biocom firm, the Kero supermarket chain, TVZimbo and other communication companies linked to the Media Nova Group.
The List consists of buildings, nurseries, yacht clubs, shipyards in Zango Zero satellite city, buildings and houses in KK5000 city, as well as the CIF One and CIF Two buildings, including the respective equipment.
