Luanda - The Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Gróz, on Tuesday in Abhu Dhabi, held a working meeting with the minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdullah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, as part of the cooperation between the two institutions.
According to a note from the Attorney General's Office (PGR), the two government officials reviewed issues related to strengthening existing cooperation relations and presented the best solutions for their normal flow, in their capacity as the main authorities for international cooperation in criminal matters in their respective countries.
Prospects for aligning and coordinating cooperation in criminal matters were also discussed, based on the continuing need to fulfil requests for mutual legal assistance, within the legal framework of the parties and direct contact between those responsible for cooperation, without jeopardising the need to sign a cooperation protocol to guide action between the two states.
The document states that the meeting resulted in viable solutions for strengthening cooperation, adding that the Attorney General took the opportunity to invite Abdullah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, to take part in the opening ceremony of the festivities to mark the 45th anniversary of the Attorney General's Office, which will take place on 27 April and was accepted.
"Co-operation between our country's Attorney General's Office and the UAE authorities is once again showing positive signs with the meeting held today (02), in Abhu Dhabi, between the Attorney General of Angola, Hélder Fernando Pitta Gróz and the minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, at the headquarters of that ministry", reads the note to which ANGOP had access.
