Luanda - The Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Gróz, on Tuesday in Vienna, Austria, held a meeting with the executive director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Ms. Ghada Fethi Waly, with whom he addressed the exchange between both institutions.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the development of UNODC projects in Angola, especially the PRO-REACT program and others which the Angolan State are interested in, particularly those to be implemented in the Cybercrime field.
At the meeting, the UNODC representative reaffirmed the desire of the organization she heads to continue supporting and providing technical assistance to Angola, also in terms of staff training, with a view to preparing magistrates to better combat economic and financial crime, precisely the crimes of money laundering, corruption, embezzlement and other related crimes and therefore support the asset recovery process.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocols (UNTOC), which takes place from the 14th to the 18th of this month in Vienna.
