Luanda - Cooperation in the field of justice between the Angolan and Dutch authorities were at the centre of an audience this Thursday granted by the Angolan Attorney General, Hélder Fernando Pitta Gróz, to the Dutch diplomat, Tsjeard Roelf Hoekstra.
During the meeting, which took place at the Palace of Justice, issues of current interest for both countries in the field of justice were discussed.
The Attorney General took the opportunity to highlight the excellent cooperation relationship between the two countries.
During the audience, Hélder Pitta Gróz presented the general framework for fighting crime, especially economic and financial crime, a reality that is still a cause for concern, despite being better protected in terms of prevention and combat.
Equally, he stated that illicit financial flows have been vehemently fought against, with effective measures for the recovery of assets illicitly removed from the Treasury, in order to ensure their reintegration to the State, as well as the allocation of such resources to social needs.
Due to this fact, Hélder Pitta Gróz referred that the reinforcement of international cooperation and the continuous training of staff are the great institutional priorities.
In his turn, the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tsjeard Roelf Hoekstra, reiterated his commitment to provide full support to the challenges of Angolan justice, especially in combating illicit financial flows connected to the country he represents.
"I do not only want to promote the commercial insertion of Dutch businesspeople in Angola, but also allow cooperation actions in the criminal field and beyond, so that there is sustainable development," the diplomat said.
