Luanda - Zambia´s National Assembly Speaker Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti has expressed the intention to strengthen cooperation with the Angolan counterpart in the field of Parliamentary diplomacy.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday in Luanda, the MP spoke of the desire of Zambian Parliamentary delegation to share experience with Angolan MPs.
During its four-day visit, the delegation will visit Palace of the National Assembly, followed by the official lunch, to be offered by the Angolan Parliament Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira.
On Thursday, the Zambian MPs will meet with six of the 10 specialised working committees of the National Assembly.
The visiting delegation will meet with the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Committee of Defence, Security, Internal Order, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, Committee of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, Committee of State Administration and Local Government, Committee of Economy and Finance, as well as the Committee of Health, Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology.
Prior to their return to Zambia, the members will visit the Memorial Dr. António Agostinho Neto in Luanda.
During the visit of the Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema to Angola in January this year, Angola’s National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, pledged to create condition for creation of the Group of Angola/Zambia Parliamentary Friendship Angola and Zambia, as part of parliamentary diplomacy.
