Mbanza Kongo – One hundred and 15 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who intended to enter the national territory illegally on Sunday were arrested by Angola’s Border Guard Police in the province of Zaire, as part of the “Barometer” operation.

It indicates that after operational interrogation, 17 citizens of this neighboring country were referred to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for being repeat offenders and the remaining 98 were repatriated.
On the same day, the Border Guard Police deployed at several border posts with the DRC seized several food products for tax evasion, including 575 liters of fuel seized for alleged smuggling.
Four municipalities in the province of Zaire, namely Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Nóqui and Cuimba, share a border with the DRC, covering a total of about 310 kilometers. JL/DOJ
