Ndalatando – The recently appointed governor of Cuanza-Norte Province, João Diogo Gaspar, this Monday in Ndalatando City appealed for unity and engagement of all executive staff and employees, for the development of the region.
When speaking at the ceremony of his presentation to the provincial government members, João Diogo Gaspar expressed his willingness to work with all sections of society, with emphasis on political parties, traditional authorities, academic and religious institutions and youth associations.
“Working together is the only way for the growth and development of the province. Therefore, each of us is called to contribute with our knowledge and strategy to the growth of Cuanza-Norte”, he highlighted.
According to the government official, the education, health, public security, agriculture and tourism sectors will deserve special attention from the local government.
“Likewise, the government will invest in human resources, which should be seen as the province’s greatest wealth”, he added.
Making reference to the program to combat corruption and nepotism carried out by the Executive, he urged public managers to maintain ethical, civic and patriotic behavior, mainly regarding issues linked to the treasury.
“Whoever dares, thinks or practices these evils will be called to Justice”, he warned.
For his part, the minister of Territorial Administration, Dionísio da Fonseca, who presided over the event, urged city dwellers to collaborate with the government, in favor of the development of the province.
Members of the provincial government, representatives of defense and security bodies, religious leaders, traditional authorities, among other guests, participated in the ceremony.
João Diogo Gaspar replaces Pedro Maquita, who was dismissed last Wednesday by the Head of State.
Born on August 28, 1983, the new governor is an economist and a university lecturer.
