Luanda - The newly appointed inspector-general of State Administration, João Pinto, on Wednesday said the institution will collaborate with bodies responsible for combating acts of corruption and irregularities that jeopardize the principles of probity and legality.
The official underscored the Inspector General of State Administration (IGAE) pedagogical role in respecting legal procedures, which requires everyone to teach and warn against breaking the law.
"The Head of the State has entrusted us with this task of trying to exercise this function of warning about respect for legal procedures and for the budgetary legislation of the public administration, but always from a pedagogical perspective, because the function of the Inspectorate is not to replace the judicial or judicial bodies," the official said.
The inspector reaffirmed his commitment to defend his country and the order established by the Constitution and laws.
IGAE was created on January 17, 1992 as an auxiliary body of the President of the Republic tasked of carrying out internal control of the public administration, through inspection, supervision, control, syndication and investigations of all bodies, agencies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the state, as well as autonomous administrations.
It also has the mission of preventing and detecting fraud, acts of corruption and improbity, irregularities, misconduct on the part of civil servants or the administrative agents, defend public assets and strengthen integrity and transparency in the management of public assets.FMA/MCN/DAN/AMP
