Luanda - The governor of Cuanza-Sul Province, Narciso Benedito, promised Monday in Luanda to bring together all the living forces of the region for the continued development and well-being of the population.
The governor announced this after a courtesy meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, following his appointment as governor.
The Governor emphasized that he is taking over the destiny of the Province with the commitment to transform it into a model of inclusive and sustainable development, working hand in hand to solve any problems that may arise during his term as Governor.
He emphasized that he will also focus on the construction of integrated infrastructures that are underway in the region.
As part of the new political-administrative department, he said he would conduct a local study to find the best people to fill the posts of administrators in the 14 new municipalities that were previously municipalities.
Asked about the education sector, he said that in addition to supervising infrastructure works, he would oversee the ongoing payment of teachers' salaries in the interior of the region.
He promised to pay attention to the agricultural and livestock potential of the province, which he said was enormous, and to work with the local business community in all areas.
Narciso Benedito was appointed governor of Cuanza-Sul province, replacing Mara Baptista Quiosa, who was elected vice president of the ruling MPLA. LDN/VIC/DAN/AMP
