Luanda - The Republic of Namibia intends to rely on Angola's experience in the field of electoral processes, the spokesperson for the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Lucas Quilundo, announced this Friday.
The CNE spokesperson, who was speaking at a press conference, said that the country will receive, from the 22nd to the 27th of this month, a visit from a delegation from the Namibian counterpart, led by its chairwoman, Elsie Nghikembua.
According to Lucas Quilundo, the demonstration of the speed of the technology used in the last electoral election, held on August 24, 2022, aroused the interest of the Namibian counterpart to learn from Angola's experience.
“Countries that are part of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have expressed interest in exchanging experiences, but they have not yet formalized it like Namibia,” he highlighted.
According to Lucas Quilundo, the CNE will pass on the experience of holding electoral elections in Angola regarding the organization, training of electoral agents, electoral registers and registration, among other components.
He said that the Namibian delegation will also visit the electoral commissions in the provinces of Bengo and Cuanza Sul, neighbouring the capital Luanda.
