Moçâmedes - Deputy Abílio Camalata Numa, from UNITA, defended in Moçâmedes City, Namibe Province, the strengthening of participatory and representative democracy for the consolidation of peace and citizens' well-being.
The politician, who was speaking during a meeting that brought together members and supporters of his party, indicated that the country needs a philosophy based on the retrieval of moral, ethical and civic values, with a view to true national reconciliation.
He defended, on the occasion, the investment in human training to respond to the challenges of new technologies "to build a fairer and more coherent society".
Abílio Camalata Numa pointed out "individualism and non-participatory governance as the main factors underlying the economic crisis that is afflicting the country".
To him, with the implementation of local governments the country will have gains in different sectors, thus contributing to the fight against hunger and poverty.
The activity is part of UNITA’s 58th foundation anniversary, whose celebrations are taking place under the motto “National Mobilization for Local Governments”.
