Luanda - The vice-president of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), Luísa Damião, on Thursday in Luanda held a meeting with her counterpart from the Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe – Social Democratic Party (MLSTP-PSD), Arlindo Semedo Barbosa, during which they discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation between the two political parties.
At the time, the MLSTP-PSD leader invited the MPLA to take part in his political party's congress, which is scheduled for 16 March this year.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Arlindo Barbosa said that the MPLA and the MLSTP share an ideological and political matrix and considered the affinity between the two sides to be crucial and advocated strengthening existing cooperation ties.
According to the São Toméan politician, the meeting focused on the strategies needed to make the congress a success.
The Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe - Social Democratic Party (MLSTP-PSD) is one of the main political parties in that west African archipelago.
