Luanda - The secretary of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA)’s Politburo for International Relations, Manuel Augusto, on Sunday in Madrid, Spain, highlighted the actions of President João Lourenço, towards the promotion of peace and dialogue on the African continent.

He went on to stress that the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Champion of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa, has spared no effort to achieve lasting and sustainable peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as has been at the forefront of the fight against the seizure of power by unconstitutional means.
Manuel Augusto was speaking on the subject of "Promoting International Peace and Security" at a meeting chaired by the President of the Socialist International and the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, with around two hundred participants.
At the meeting, which closes Sunday, the decision was taken to remove its secretary-general, Benedicta Lasi, for internal reasons linked to management and discipline.
