Luanda - The Minister of State and Head of the Military Staff of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, participates in Bissau city, in the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Guinea-Bissau National Independence.
Representing the Angolan President, João Lourenço, Francisco Furtado was at the official welcome dinner offered by the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
Guinea-Bissau celebrates on November 16, the 50th Anniversary of its National Independence and the 59th anniversary of the country’s Armed Forces.
The two countries have maintained cooperation and friendship ties since the independence struggle against Portuguese colonialism.
Guinea-Bissau's debt to Angola worth 49 million US dollars was reviewed in 2022, within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed in Luanda, in which the payment period has been extended to 35 years. VIC/CF/AMP
