Luanda – Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António is carrying out since Friday (16th) a 72-hour working visit to the headquarters of the United Nations (UN), in New York, US.
Upon his arrival, coming from Washington, Téte António was received at JFK International Airport by the Permanent Representative of the Mission of Angola to the UN in New York, Maria de Jesus Ferreira, in addition to other senior officials of the mission.
In New York, the minister of Foreign Affairs will meet the UN secretary general, António Guterres, and the organisation's assistant secretary general, Amina Mohammed.
Téte António had joined the delegation of the President of the Republic, João Manuel Lourenço, who participated from December 13 to 16 at the US/Africa Summit in Washington.
The Angolan minister's programme, in New York, also foresees meetings with the permanent representatives of China, Russia and France at the United Nations, as well as with the A3 Group (Ghana, Kenya and Gabon), African countries in the Security Council.
The list of countries also includes the Republic of Mozambique, which is due to take its seat on the United Nations Security Council in 2023.
