Luanda – The minister of National Defence and Homeland Veterans, João Ernesto dos Santos, this Friday lamented the death of the Angolan ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, André Panzo, and considered him “a diplomat with unquestionable experience”.
André Panzo died on Thursday morning in Abidjan from illness.
In a message of condolences, minister João Ernesto dos Santos states that the qualities of the deceased were at the basis of successive appointments to leadership positions in the bodies and services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).
The minister of National Defence and Motherland Veterans has expressed to the bereaved family “sincere condolences ”.
The diplomat performed the role of head of the Asia and Oceania Directorate of MIREX, from 2012 to 2016.
He was born in the municipality of Damba, northern Uíge, November 10, 1959; he was a widower and father of seven children.
André Panzo had been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Côte d’Ivoire in January 2020.
