Luanda - The new minister of Youth and Sports Palmira Barbosa announced Monday that youth will deserve priority in terms of access to housing and employment.
The official said so to the press at the end of the swearing in ceremony, chaired by the President of Republic, João Lourenço.
She explained that other priorities are included in the government's programme, adding that she will prepare a continuity plan and work on the basis of proximity.
Another newly appointed minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Carmen Sacramento Neto, expressed her commitment to the sector, which she deems complex, as it interacts with almost all other sectors (economic, social and environmental).
She pointed out as an initial dynamic "to listen a lot and understand the dynamics of the sector".
She said that the Ministry is made up of two balanced areas that must be taken in the same measure, to respond to major global issues related to safeguarding biodiversity sources and the oceans, paying special attention to illegal fishing.
Marcy Lopes, who is now in charge of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, said that the challenges are permanent, being an obligation to identify the key areas of the sector, humanize the service, make the process of service and delivery of documents faster, unblock the situations that may create obstacles and delay the process of processing, recording and delivering documents to their holders and see how to make life easier for citizens.
He pointed out that the Identity Card will continue to be a priority and will deserve attention to ensure it can reach everyone.
On human rights, he recalled that the Angolan State is committed to international conventions related to the preservation and security of the human and fundamental rights of citizens.
He said that this task is permanent and continuous, so he will fulfill these commitments, in a relationship of proximity with the actors working in this area to ensure that fundamental rights are fulfilled and ensure that Angola can rise in the rates of respect for these rights.
In turn, the minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, considered that the sector he now assumes is transversal to all activities of society, from administrative modernization to digital literacy in schools.
He expressed his commitment to the government's programme, which will highlight the modernization of telecommunications and information technologies, with emphasis on the expansion of telecommunications services throughout the country.
The minister said that currently there is a mobile telephony coverage in the order of 49 percent, and it is necessary to increase so that every Angolan has access and with that to information and education.
As for Social Communication, the idea is to increase the coverage of services throughout the country, to invest in the training of staff in the telecommunication and media sub-sectors, with emphasis on cybersecurity and data protection.
The commitment to continuing to improve renewable energies, combating drought in southern Angola and the programme to improve water supply are the three main priorities for the next five years in the Energy and Water sector.
According to minister João Baptista Borges, the electrification programme will continue with the interconnection among the north, center and south systems, and the interconnection between center and south, Huíla/Huambo, Huíla/Namibe, Huambo/Cunene and Huambo currently needs to be completed /Menongue (Cuando Cubango) and also the interconnection with the three eastern provinces.
He also mentioned the projects in the field of solar energy, with large solar parks to be built and the country's seven provinces to be electrified using solar, photovoltaic energy systems, which are currently at an advanced stage of execution.
Another pillar will be the fight against drought, noting that work began in Cunene, where there are three more projects in progress, and will be expanded to Huíla and Namibe.
In terms of water supply, the major effort will be to double the capacity to cover the deficit, and it is expected that in five years time the problems of water supply in Luanda will be reduced to a minimum and that there will be a satisfactory supply.
The minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Allen Ringote, said that carrying out her political coordination functions in line with the guidelines of the social sector occupies a central place in the executive's agenda.
She will work in an articulated way to ensure that programmes and projects at the level of central and local structures can have a real impact on the population.
The idea is to boost some programmes in articulation with the sectors to ensure their implementation and to allow more families to be impacted.
The official also intends to deepen the articulation with civil society, especially with the youth, and also to favour cooperation with cooperatives, especially those in rural areas, so that everyone can benefit from all the incentives that the Executive made available at the economy.
