Luanda - Technological modernization constitutes one of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT)'s main commitments to face the constant changes in the sector, without neglecting the training of human capital, the minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho, said Monday in Luanda Province.
Speakingat the opening of the festivities for the 45th anniversary of the Ministry of Interior, the minister added that these nuances are fundamental in the fight against crime due to the sad scenarios that are observed, despite the investigation work and detention of criminals still being among the main challenges.
To this end, he said, several infrastructures are being built across the country, as well as the inauguration of police units from various MININT bodies, thus responding to the demands that arise.
According to the minister, another challenge involves "more resilient, more patient, more intelligent policing, working with the population to increase the level of collaboration and reporting".
On the other hand, the official highlighted that in the fight against sexual abuse, where most of the time it is carried out by people close to them, taking advantage of the absence of parents to commit the act, the concerned bodies will be relentless in their due treatment.
Eugénio Laborinho recognized that during the 45 years of existence, the department has fulfilled a range of tasks, but there are still many to be developed.
In this sense, hard work must be done in collaboration with the population, through a spirit of denunciation, as there should not be violence when coexisting with good people.
To him, MININT continues to work through its bodies, especially the penitentiary services, civil protection and fishing services and the migration of foreigners so that, in fact, they guarantee the public security of the population.
The programme to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the institutionalization of the Ministry of the Interior, which among several scheduled activities, includes the inauguration of various infrastructures that will serve the other departments that make up the ministry.
Running under the motto “MININT, 45 years, with past experience we reinforce unity and professionalism in guaranteeing public order and security”, the commemoration will include the inauguration of the Boma Penitentiary Establishment, the Headquarters building of the Provincial Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC), the Barracks of the Firefighters and the National Police Medical Center, all in the Province of Moxico, as well as the municipal MININT delegations in Cambambe, Malanje, Cacuso, Lobito, Benguela and Saurimo.
