Luanda - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, received on Wednesday a message in Luanda from his Beninese counterpart, Patrice Talon, in the context of strengthening relations of cooperation and friendship ties between the two countries.
The message was delivered by Benin's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, who was received in an audience by the Angolan President in his capacity as the Beninese leader's special envoy.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Olushegun Bakari said Angola and Benin have long-standing relations of cooperation at a political and diplomatic level, and therefore "they must be strengthened".
The diplomat added that the two countries are currently working to identify and extend cooperation in other sectors, which would be announced soon and that the foreign ministries of both countries are obeying the guidelines of respective presidents to strengthen existing cooperative relations to take it to a next level.
Olushegun Adjadi Bakari praised the figure of the Angolan statesman, who in his role as president-in-office of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the International Conference on Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) has played an important role for peace, stability and security in Africa.
