Luanda - The judge counselor of the Supreme Court (TS), Raúl Rodrigues, on Tuesday defended the need to create a liaison platform between the judiciary and the Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC) to improve not only the decisions, but also the judgments in the cases.
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the seminar on "The judiciary in the defense of competition", the magistrate said the coordination is necessary, especially in review cases, so that they could be effectively heard by the Court of Appeal.
According to the judge, at the level of higher court judges, it is necessary to improve knowledge regarding matters linked to competition to support not only the authority's decisions, as well as judgments.
To him, jurisprudence is always needed to support more solid decisions, without neglecting the academics.
The venerable Judge Counselor and Vice-President of the TS, Efigénia Clemente, said that regarding the need for specialization in the courts, the judicial sector in the country has huge challenges in terms of competition law.
According to the magistrate, specialization in this area is fundamental in order to deal with complex issues that will provide a more stable legal environment and lead to more accurate decisions being made, with an analysis of the legal situation.
The Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC) is a public law body, part of the Public Institutes of the Economic or Productive Sector established in 2018, responsible for ensuring compliance and respect for competition rules.
