Dundo - The Attorney General's Office (PGR) in the province of Lunda-Norte is reinforced with new magistrates, who were presented Monday, to the provincial governor, Filomena Miza.
With this reinforcement, of which six are women, the number of magistrates in the province of Lunda-Norte increases to 16.
Cuango, Capenda-Camulemba, Chitato, Cambulo, Xá-Muteba and Lucapa are the municipalities where they will be placed.
At the time, Filomena Miza, called for certainty in the handling of criminal cases filed at the PGR and in the Chitato and Cuango District Courts, with a view to avoiding excessive preventive detention and overcrowding in prisons.
She also called for the need to strengthen actions aimed at raising citizens' legal awareness and the culture of reporting, as well as new dynamics in criminal investigation, especially those linked to the vandalization of public property.
The provincial governor assured the government's institutional support in combating crimes that put the economic and social stability of the province at risk.
In turn, the representative of the Attorney General's Office in Lunda-Norte province, João Constantino, stated that the current number of magistrates met demand, mainly in the interior of the province and will contribute to boosting justice services in the district.
He highlighted that of the nine prosecutors, four will be assigned to the Chitato District Court, which until their arrival, had only one magistrate, which prevented the speed in processing cases.
On the other hand, the official appealed to the population to combat economic crimes, as well as illegal immigration, through complaints with a view to facilitating the intervention of the PGR. HD/MRA/DOJ
