Addis Ababa – The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is among the personalities speaking at the opening session, this Saturday, of the 37th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) Summit, taking place until Sunday, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Of the seven interventions included in the event's work program, Lula da Silva's precedes the summit's opening speech by the acting president of the AU and Head of State of the Union of the Comoros, Azali Assoumani.
The first intervention will be made by the president of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, followed by the prime minister of the host Ethiopia, Aby Ahmed, the secretary-general of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheith, the secretary-general of the United Nations, António Guterres, and the president of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas.
This year’s AU summit takes place under the theme “Training Africans for the 21st Century: Creating resilient education systems to increase access to inclusive, lifelong, quality and relevant learning in Africa”.
