Luanda - The Liberian government on Tuesday expressed intention to strengthen cooperation relations with Angola, with an emphasis on the oil and gas sector.
This was expressed by Liberia Foreign Affairs Minister Sara Beysolon Nyanti, special envoy of President Joseph Boakai.
Speaking to the press after an audience granted by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, the Liberian official said she discussed with the Angolan statesman issues related to strengthening cooperation between Angola and Liberia.
The Liberian official said that in specific terms, the meeting served to discuss how the two states could exchange experiences in the oil and gas sectors, underlining that the two countries would soon be working to set up a Bilateral Joint Commission to strengthen political, diplomatic, economic and commercial cooperation.
Recently, on the sidelines of the US-Africa Business Summit, which took place in Dallas, Texas, President João Lourenço met with his Liberian counterpart, Joseph Nyuma Boukai, with whom he discussed bilateral relations.
