Luanda - The commissioner of the Assembly of Nigeria, Akamo Hakeem Olabode, Monday in Luanda praised the services of the parliamentary administration and the Angolan democratic process.
The MP, who heads a delegation from the Nigerian Assembly Services Commission working in Luanda to strengthen and promote bilateral cooperation, said Angola’s democracy is strong and its parliament is growing considerably.
The commissioner emphasized the need for sharing and exchanging experiences between legislative bodies in areas of common interest, underlining that the Nigerian delegation's choice to visit the headquarters of the Angolan National Assembly was selective, since it was believed that democracy in this country is strong and parliament is growing’
Akamo Hakeem Olabode said the visit to Angola aims to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries and discuss issues of mutual interest, such as bilateral cooperation in the parliamentary administration field.
Besides exchanging experiences, the visit includes a series of lectures to be given by different members of the Angolan National Assembly.
Political and diplomatic relations between Angola and Nigeria date back to 1975.
The two countries maintain bilateral cooperation relations, especially in the areas of politics and diplomacy, defense and security, oil, education, culture and transport. DC/ART/AMP
