luanda - The Head of State, João Lourenço, today, Thursday, appointed Laurinda Jacinto Prazeres Monteiro Cardoso, to the post of Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court, replacing Manuel Aragão.
A note from the President of the Republic's Civil House indicates that Laurinda Cardoso was relieved of her post as secretary of State for Territorial Administration, a post she had held since April 2020.
João Lourenço appointed the new Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court (TC), under the terms of the Constitution and the Organic Law of the TC, in a Decree that designates her as the first councilor judge of that judicial instance.
Laurinda Cardoso's appointment results from the resignation of Manuel Miguel da Costa Aragão, who had been in office since November 2017.
In addition to having served as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office, she was director of the Legal Office of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and provided technical and legal advice in legislative production processes.
She has a degree in Law, in the Legal-Economics option, from the Law Faculty of the Agostinho Neto University, and a post-graduate degree, in the Legal-Business specialty, from the same higher education institution, in cooperation with the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
Laurinda Cardoso has a second post-graduate degree in Business Management from the Catholic Lisbon Business & Economic School.
