Luanda - Angolan judge Adelino Mohungo was elected on Thursday president of the Administrative Court of the Southern African Development Community (SADCAT).
The election follows the 17th SADCAT Plenary that took place from the 22nd to the 25th of July, in Luanda, where the organization's statutes were reviewed and which now culminates, at the SADCAT headquarters in Botswana, with the election of judge Adelino Mohungo.
Adelino Mohungo, who replaces Judge Sanji Monangeng from Botswana, was elected for a one-year term.
The SADC Administrative Tribunal (SADCAT) was created under a resolution of the SADC Summit meeting held in Gaborone, Botswana, on 18 August 2015, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 9 and the paragraph 6 of Article 10 of the Treaty establishing SADC.
This body is headed by an elected presiding judge and a vice-president who are assisted by a Secretariat.ART/DOJ
