Luanda - Angolan Supreme Court Justice Diogo Gomes on Wednesday was elected ordinary member of the Executive Committee of the Southern and Eastern Africa Judicial Administrators Association (SEAJAA), for a two-year term.
The election took place within the framework of the SEAJAA General Assembly taking place in Kampala, Republic of Uganda, following a proposal from representatives of Mozambique and the Seychelles Islands.
In the competition, the Angolan judge beat the Kenyan representative, in the second round of voting, by 8-6, after an equality of 6 votes in the first round.
The Executive Committee is the main body of SEAJAA, composed of five members from different countries.
It is made up of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a general secretary, a treasurer and an ordinary member.
Also during the event, Puis Bigirimana, from Uganda, was also elected as chairman of SEAJAA, Boikobo Keaikitse, from Botswana, as vice-chairman, Benhardt Kukuri, from Namibia, as secretary, Kondwani Banda, from Malawi, for the post of the general treasurer.
