Luanda - The President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, on Sunday requested the recognition and accreditation of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) as the African Union (AU) Regional Mechanism for the Prevention, Management and Resolution of Conflicts in Africa.
The intention is expressed in a letter from the Angolan Head of State delivered in Djibouti by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, to Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairman of the African Union Commission.
The message of the Angolan Head of State was delivered in his capacity as chairperson of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, on the sidelines of the 3rd Africa-Turkey Review Ministerial Conference, which ended Sunday in Djibouti. ART/DOJ
