Luanda – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço Friday expressed solidarity and feeling of regret to the authorities of the United Arab Emirates, over the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nayan on Friday, victim of illness.
In a condolence message addressed to the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, João Lourenço considers the death of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nayan an irreparable loss for his country.
He highlights the actions of the Sheikh that positively and indelibly marked the history of the Emirates which, thanks to strong internal cohesion, managed to assert itself in the world as a great modern and prosperous nation.
"Faced with this unfortunate event, I bow to the memory of the deceased and I take the opportunity to present, on behalf of the Angolan Executive and on my own, our deep feelings of regret, which I ask that they be extended to friends and the entire bereaved family", reads the note that reached ANGOP on Friday.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who took over he presidency of the United Arab Emirates in 2004, has died at the age of 73.
