Luanda - The Angolan President, João Lourenço, Sunday mourned the death of the former Head of State of Mali, Ibrahim Boubakar Keita, and sent his "deepest condolences" to the bereaved family.
In a condolence note to the family of the deceased, the Head of State said it was with "deep sadness" that he learned of the passing away of the former President of Mali, which occurred this Sunday.
"In this painful hour for your country, I express my conviction that the Malian people will be able to overcome this difficult moment, in deserved tribute to this important figure in Mali's recent history," the letter reads.
The President of the Republic ends his message by expressing his solidarity with the Malian nation.
Ibrahim Boubacar Keita died this morning at the age of 76 at his residence in the Malian capital. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
