Luanda - President João Lourenço on Tuesday in the Province of Luanda visited the construction works of the future Forensic Medicine Institute, the first institution of this kind in Angola.
The secretary of State for Health, Leonardo Edurado, the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, among others, accompanied the President who toured the different areas of the project, which is currently at 14% execution level.
The unit will have a capacity of 200 drawers and, besides preserving bodies, it will perform pathological anatomy and criminalistic autopsies.
According to the data, the contractor expects to complete work on the institute by the end of 2024.
Earlier, President João Lourenço, who was making an on-field assesment visit, also went to the Cajueiros General Hospital in the municipality of Cazenga, where he found out about the repair and expansion works happening on this health unit.
