Brazzaville – The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, was gathered this Saturday evening in Brazzaville with his counterpart from the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, to analyse matters of bilateral interest, as well as regional security issues.
The Angolan President arrived on Saturday afternoon in Brazzaville, at the invitation of his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou Nguesso, for a working visit.
The meeting between the two leaders served to review the historic relations between the two nations, the situation in the African continent and pertinent world issues.
After the meeting, João Lourenço and his delegation participated in a luncheon offered by President Nguessou at the presidential palace.
João Lourenço arrived in the Congolese capital after presiding in Kamapala, Uganda, over the works of the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), which started on 9th January.
The African Union Extraordinary Summit on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme was attended by presidents of various African countries or their representatives, as well as experts in agriculture (forestry, fisheries and livestock), rural development, water and environment.
The summit closed on Saturday with the adoption of the Kampala Declaration plus the 2026-2035 Strategy and Action Plan.
