Luanda - The President of the MPLA, João Lourenço, on Tuesday, in Luanda, praised the merit of the cadres and leaders who, “tirelessly” always make the party and the country look good.
João Lourenço was speaking at the end of the meeting of the MPLA Central Committee that elected the new vice-president of the party, Mara Quiosa, and the new members of the Political Bureau and the coordination of the Discipline, Ethics and Audit Commission of the party.
According to the leader of Angola's ruling party, the merit of cadres and leaders must be recognized by others, as well as by the party.
“Those who work do not need to be the ones to say that I am a good cadre, I am a good politician and I deserve place A or place B”, he stressed.
At the time, he congratulated the leaders who were reappointed and the new staff elected to the Polititburo of the party's Central Committee, which now has 103 members, compared to the previous 101.
João Lourenço asked the new elected members for commitment, pragmatism and team spirit in the face of the challenges of the party's present and future.
He also praised the good organization of the party's 8th Extraordinary Congress, thus contradicting "the pessimistic feeling of some people".
“The congress took place in an environment of harmony and camaraderie. The objectives were achieved and, therefore, we are all to be congratulated”, he concluded.
During the event, the party also elected new members of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau (BP), chaired by its president, João Lourenço.
