Luanda – João Lourenço had a phone conversation with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on Friday, about complementary issues related to the 14th conference of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), the Angolan President’s press office has said.
The 14th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries took place last Sunday in São Tomé and Príncipe, the country that has taken over the leadership of the organisation for the next two years.
Among the decisions taken at the meeting, includes the commitment for the CPLP to achieve economic, social and environmental development in a sustainable way, as well as encouraging the creation of mobility and exchange programmes for young people in the Community.
CPLP is made up of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.
