Harare – Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on Saturday granted audience to the President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Sidi Tah, with whom he discussed issues of common interest.
Sidi Tah executive was one of the guests at the SADC meeting in Harare, which witnessed the handover of the presidency from Angola to Zimbabwe.
This week, in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also in Harare, Sidi Tah expressed BADEA's willingness to invest in Angola in several areas, to participate in the country's economic development.
Quoted in a press release to which ANGOP had access, he said that the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa is available to finance road infrastructure, railways, airports, technological equipment, as well as food processing and agriculture.
Without referring to specific financial availability, he assured that the Bank has sufficient capacity to respond to any demand that arises from the Angolan market, even admitting the mobilization of partners, if necessary.
During the meeting, Minister Téte António learned that BADEA projects “a fruitful future” in cooperation with national companies, having considered the Angolan potential.
National companies will be able to access financing from this banking institution, through its private capital fund for the implementation of investment projects outside the oil sector.
BADEA was created on February 18, 1974, by 18 Arab nations, to support economic, financial and technical cooperation between the Arab and African regions, incorporating Arab-African solidarity and cooperation and the foundations of equality and friendship. IZ/ART/DOJ
